Where Was God?

In June, my family mourned the one year passing of a dear friend due to prescription addiction. Recently, we marked the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Today, we remember the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In all of these events, and countless others, we look to place blame. God is an awfully easy target, but look deeper....

Where Was God?

Where was God when Katrina

hit New Orleans?

Where was God when the addict

first took morphine?

Where was God when terrorists

hit the towers?

Where was God with all

His miraculous powers?

He was there among us urging,

"Help until it's done!"

He was there next to him saying,

"Turn to me instead, My Son."

He was there in heroes calling,

"Come together. A nation stands as one!"

Did we hear Him?

Did we answer Him?

Did we care?

We may not have stopped to notice,

But God was always there.
